Zoo Atlanta

Maddie had a field trip to the zoo in Atlanta, so Aaron took the day off--we decided to make it a family affair! Aaron, Wesley and I drove over a little early to take care of the business end of the field trip (pay for tickets) and Maddie rode with her class on the bus.

Welsey was SO excited to go the zoo to see all of the animals! He had this adorable look on his face the whole way. :)

Welsey wasn't too sure about the bronze animals. He wouldn't stand next to one until Dad helped him realize it wasn't real!
Most of Maddie's class.
We started off in the playground.
SO excited to be on the Merry-Go-Round.
(Before it started moving)
Not quite as excited.
GET ME OFF THIS THING!
(I know I'm a bad mom for taking pictures of my terrified child,
but it was just too funny to pass up!
Maddie and I couldn't stop laughing at Wesley.

Happy to be on the train.
Maddie and Kadjari.
(I have a special place in my heart for this little man. He comes from a pretty rough home and he craves attention. Any time we went to Maddie's school, he wanted to hold Wesley and give me hugs. He's going to have a rough life ahead of him--he's the kid who everyone blames for anything that goes wrong even if he didn't do it. (Although he is often the culprit.) Maddie was so sweet to Kadjari. Her teacher said she was a great friend to him.)
Combing the goats
Ugh! Goats are the ugliest and noisiest animals ever!
The pandas were so cute!

Going into the blind mole rat exhibit

Maddie was SO excited to have her picture taken.

Massive gorilla
The kids threw their snacks to this ape or whatever it is (don't tell the zoo keeper!) and he followed us all along the fence, begging for more.
Cuties

Excited to see the zebras

The parakeet exhibit was the best part of the zoo! You could buy these little seed sticks and the birds would land right on them.
Morgan was not a fan!

All we needed was a big, red nose!

Nonna left a bunch of Halloween stuff when she came to visit. This was the best thing we found in the box! It took a while to talk Wesley into wearing it!

Easter Weekend

We had a really fun Easter weekend, full of fun, friends and the Savior. What could be better?

Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday Morning began with the annual Church Easter egg hunt. We got there a couple minutes late, so pretty much all the eggs were taken! We hid a few for Wesley to find. He wasn't quite sure what to do at first, but enjoyed it once he figured it out.

Maddie with friendsG-Day Game
After a quick nap for Wesley, we went to the G-Day game. This is a free game to celebrate the end of spring practices and kick-off the beginning of summer practice. (At least that's what I found on a website.) ESPN was showing the game, so there were a ton of people there. We all know I really don't like football (unless it's BYU playing), but I had a fun time. The stadium wasn't too crowded, it wasn't too hot, there weren't any obnoxious fans (no alcohol was being sold) and we ran into our friends, the Flynns, who used to live in Athens.

Not the best, but hey, it's a family picture! They're a rare thing!

Easter Morning
The kids awoke to Easter baskets from the Easter bunny. The Easter Bunny didn't bring quite as much candy as he has in the past.

Wesley and Maddie in their matching Easter outfits. I figure there aren't be too many years left that I'll be allowed to dress them alike. I'm going to take advantage of it while I can!

Easter Afternoon
After a great morning at church (and listening to great talks about the Savior and the Atonement), we had our friends the Hancocks and the Stuckeys over for Easter dinner. The food was yummy and the frienship was great! Wesley slept through dinner AND the Easter Egg Hunt, but all of the other kids had a great time.
